MISSOURI ASSOCIATION OF ACCREDITED ENERGY PROFESSIONALS

Missouri Association of Accredited Energy Professionals (MAAEP) is a non-profit association of energy auditors and home performance professionals. We promote renewable and green energy solutions for existing homes, buildings and new construction. Our accredited energy assessors perform an energy audit and then recommend energy efficiency upgrades to save on energy and utility bills. We help create new “green-collar” jobs and train energy professionals. MAAEP also offers affiliate and associate memberships, in addition to sponsorships for industry related individuals, organizations and corporations.

MAAEP is funded by grants, affiliates, members and sponsors. We market these benefits through existing associations and organizations to reach all homeowners in Missouri.

On July 6th, 2009, we launched the development of a non-profit association of energy professionals composed of Accredited Energy Assessors advancing their model of home energy assessment and improvement via standardized testing and weatherization. This association will recruit grants, affiliates and sponsors to pay for marketing and promotions through realtors, remodelers and other organizations to all homeowners and landlords. MAAEP will develop a proprietary best practices standard and offer MAAEP Energy Equity Certification for qualifying homes and buildings.

Our goal is to help weatherize 7500 Missouri homes to a 30% thermal improvement or better with grant start-up funding, and to continue over time with private sector sponsorship and membership fees supporting the organization after the first 18 months. Our association intends to achieve a significant decrease in non-renewable energy consumption by the housing sector; a major component in America's much-needed energy solution.

The Missouri Association of Accredited Energy Professionals will not only help folks save on utility costs and boost Missouri's energy efficiency, but will also create jobs in the green and renewable energy sector, contributing to the construction of a new economy; a green economy for a strong America into the 21st century.
